A right of reply
An interesting few comments to my recent blogs. Simon disagrees entirely with my views on the Harrow Times splash and goes on to say the Observer should stop writing about yams and concentrate on those things that are important to Harrow.
So he's not seen our front page this week on the loss of trees in the borough or our page two campaign to get more money from the Government for Harrow Council or our serious and exclusive interview with the Mayor of London on page seven or our campaign to Save Bentley Priory for the people of Harrow on 8 and 9 or our, do I really need to go on. Either Simon works on the Harrow Times, has a relative who works on it or has not picked up the Harrow Observer for some time.
I cannot agree with his view of the Harrow Times splash but I do agree that it is naive to believe that if a press officer denies a story then it will never happen. Of course denials are made only to be reversed later. The point I was making was less about the proposed merger and more about the treatment of the story. What intelligent reader could really believe that while the rest of Britain enjoys a free NHS two boroughs in London would be forced to go private. I don't think so.
I should also apologise for not uploading Simon's comments sooner, it wasn't because we only publish positive comments but rather because I have been busy, editing stories that matter to the people of Harrow.
